Jesus said "come and see"

Jesus said "come and see" two other times in the Gospel of John:

  • In John 1:46, Philip told Nathanael that he had found the Messiah. Nathanael was skeptical, but Philip said, "Come and see." Nathanael went with Philip to see Jesus, and he was amazed by Jesus' wisdom and understanding.
  • In John 11:34, Jesus' disciples came to him and told him that Lazarus was sick. Jesus said, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I go to wake him up." The disciples did not understand what Jesus meant, but they said, "Come and see." Jesus went to Bethany, where Lazarus was buried, and he raised him from the dead.

The phrase "come and see" is used in these passages to invite people to come and experience the truth for themselves. In the first passage, Jesus is inviting people to come and see who he really is. In the second passage, Jesus is inviting people to come and see the power of God. And in the third passage, Jesus is inviting people to come and see the love of God.The phrase "come and see" is still used today by Christians as an invitation to come and experience the truth of Jesus Christ. It is an invitation to come and see for yourself that he is the Messiah, the Son of God, and the Savior of the world.
